1 x (*Qualified) Early Years Educator to work as a Secondary Key Person/Forest School Assistant
Location: Brislington, Bristol, BS4 4DY
Days: * Ideally 4 days a week, Monday - Thursday (we’ve been pioneering the 4-day working week since we opened) but we will also consider applications from people who wish to job share 2 days and 2 days
Hours: 8:45 until 17:45
Weeks: We are open 38 weeks a year, term time only. Holiday work is available (see below)
Start: ASAP and no later than Monday 2nd November
Hourly Rate: Between *£13.10 and £14.30 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience
*Please note holiday pay is paid in addition to this, as we are term-time only, taking the hourly rate to between £14.57 and £15.41
Contract: *Fixed Term until July 2027 (to become permanent if you move into a key person role)

Job Details: This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to the overall success and continuous improvement of Out There Kindergarten. We are seeking individuals who are on a journey, who fully embrace the outdoors (and dressing appropriately), who are flexible and adaptable, kind and nurturing, and possess a good understanding of how children develop in their early years.
You will already have experience working in a nursery setting, ideally somewhere similar to ours. * We are ideally looking for someone who is a qualified early years Level 3 educator, an early years L6 teacher or a primary teacher with QTS. However, we will consider applications from people who are keen to gain a qualification at level 3 (via the apprenticeship route) or level 6 (graduates only).
You will act as a ‘secondary’ key person to a small group of children; building caring and trusting relationships with the children, liaising closely with the key person and building effective relationships with the parents/carers .
You will be an excellent role model to the children and help ensure high standards of early years care, teaching and learning.
Forest School experience is ideal, but we will also consider candidates who demonstrate a commitment to our vision and values, including Social and Emotional wellbeing, Developing Social Skills, Child-initiated learning, Nature Connection, promoting environmental sustainability, interactive and hands-on learning, and building an Inclusive and Diverse Community.
Please note we are a pack-up/pack-down provision. The job is both physically and mentally demanding, and all team members work on a rota regarding setting up and packing down resources, preparing snacks and afternoon tea and ensuring the place is clean and tidy, ready for the next day.

Job Details: This is an important role which focuses on supporting children with additional needs. You will work as part of a team and with the SENCO to meet the needs of the child and support them to access our provision to their fullest.
You will assist in promoting the learning and personal development of two children to enable them to access our ‘forest kindergarten’ provision, develop communication and language skills, access the play and learning opportunities on offer and form social relationships with peers.
You will have some knowledge of how young children learn and be able to scaffold an environment for child-led, play-based learning. Our ideal candidates will be resilient, high-energy, patient, compassionate and committed to providing an outstanding early years education in an outdoor environment.
We can offer you the opportunity to work as part of an amazing and dedicated team who will support you in your journey. You will have some previous experience of working with young children, possibly in a similar role though training will be given.

Student and Volunteer Placements
If you are a student or potential volunteer looking for a placement, we'd love to hear from you. Come, play, explore, and learn as part of an excellent team for at least 4 weeks.
We are seeking students who wish to expand their knowledge in outdoor and alternative education.
You will need an up-to-date DBS check; alternatively, we can arrange for one to be conducted on your behalf at an additional cost.
