Early Years Educator with Experience
Location: Brislington, Bristol, BS4 4DY
Days: 4 days a week Monday - Thursday (we’ve been pioneering the 4 day working week since we opened)
Hours: Applicants must be committed to working on a rota and be able to do at least one early start (7.30am) and one later finish (17:45). 4 days is approx 34.5 hours a week.
Weeks: We are open 38 weeks a year, term time only. Holiday work is available (see below)
Start: ASAP and as soon as we have interviewed the right candidate
Hourly Rate: Between *£12.50 and £14.00 per hour depending on qualification and experience
*please note holiday pay is paid in addition to this as we are term time only taking the hourly rate to between £14.00 and £15.69.
Contract: Permanent

Job Details: This is a very exciting opportunity to join our team and be involved in the overall success and continuous improvement of Out There Kindergarten. We are looking for someone who is on a journey, who fully embraces the outdoors (and dresses appropriately), who is flexible and adaptable, who is kind and nurturing, who has good knowledge of how children develop in their early years. You will already have experience of working in a nursery setting, ideally somewhere similar to ours. You may be an early years teacher (or a teacher looking to work in early years) and/or be on your own Forest School journey.
Equally, you may be unqualified but have lots of experience working with early years children in a similar setting. For the right person with the right mindset and can do attitude, we will work with you to help you develop the necessary skillset and knowledge to fulfil the role successfully and confidently. If you are unqualified, we will help you progress to become qualified (level 3 Early Years Educator or above) after a period of settling in.
You will be a key person with your own group of key children. You will be an excellent role model to the children, and help ensure high standards of early years care, teaching and learning.
Forest School experience is ideal but equally we will consider candidates who show a commitment to our vision and values; Social and emotional wellbeing, Developing Social Skills, Child initiated learning, Nature Connection, Promoting environmental sustainability, Interactive, hands-on learning and Building an Inclusive and Diverse Community.

Please note: Holiday work is available in October, Easter, May and 3 weeks in the Summer with the option to work all 6 weeks. Everyone who works at the Kindie is required to work at least one full week (4 days) of a holiday club.

Student Placements
If you are a student looking for a placement we'd love to hear from you. Come play, explore and learn as part of a great team for a minimum of 4 weeks.
We are looking for students that want to develop their knowledge in outdoor and alternative education.
You will need an up to date DBS check or take care of the cost if you would prefer us to run a check for you.

Volunteer with us
If you are looking to gain experience in early years outdoor learning, we'd love to hear from you. Come play, explore and learn as part of a great team for a minimum of 6-8 weeks.
We are looking for volunteers that want to develop their knowledge in outdoor and alternative education.
Ideally you will have a DBS on the update service but you can apply for one through us.
